ICPAE Business Meeting Report 2013

The presentations at the first joint meeting between IACA and ICAPE featured talks on Mars polar processes, Venus atmosphere, Titan and Jupiter and Saturn, including several invited talks and contributed oral and poster presentations. Approximately 40 persons attended the commission meeting following the oral and poster sessions. Many commission members were unable to attend the DACA-2013 but had sent in proxies to enable commission business to be undertaken according to the by-laws. ICPAE President (Limaye) and Vice President (Fletcher) summarized the commission activities in the last two years. Nominations were sought for the position of the ICPAE Secetary and new members as tweleve members rolled off the commission at the end of their term. The commission unanimously elected Darrell Strobel as the ICPAE Secretary to fill the vacancy. We are pleased that the following have been elected as ICPAE members: T. Appere, K. Baines, L. Esposito, C, Hvidberg, T. Imamura, A. Rodin, A. Solominodou, F. Tian, A.C. Vandaele, T. Widemann, and V. Wilquet.
The next ICPAE meeting will be held with other IAMAS commissions during the 26th IUGG General Assembly during 22 June – 2 July 2015 in Prague, Czech Republic (www.iugg2015prague.com). One of the ideas is to feature comparative planetary sciences themes with other IAMAS commissions. Other session ideas and names of invited speakers are welcome.
